Hey !!!!
I just hit the link for the Emmons guitar company on the "links" page and I got a page that says, "This Domain is for Sale" according to that page the bidding's at $60 with 4 days left. Apparently one could own that domain for only the next bid increment.
Anybody know what the status of this company is ??
Anybody want to go in halvers on the domain ??
Kevin

b0b, the creator/owner of the forum has an old link. He has, like, a life, and can't be chasing down every link to verify its status. Proper linkage requires a business that, like, cares to update things like, like, links. |

Thats strange, I tried it and got the for sale page. http://www.emmonsguitar.com/
Could be a network problem I suppose, or it could be that Emmons didn't renew their domain name.... thats pretty hard for me to believe though.
Edited to add: Thanks Jon for figgerin that out for us. Its net not com... duh

I have a friend who ordered & paid in advance for a new D-10 almost 18 months ago from Emmons. Should he be concerned? I mean even more than he already is? |

There's nothing like waiting to make the getting all that much better.
The way I do it is find as many different ways to influence them to get my order done on time as I can without them knowing how steamed I am.
Kind of like I found with my 63 panhead rebuild.
Once they've got a 6 thousand dollar harley motor scattered all over their shop, the madder they are at you, the less they are going to be concerned with .0001 - .0005 tolerances. I waited til it was out of harms' way before I gave the guy a 3000$ dressing down, tore it apart and redid most of it myself. I bought and duly waited for the priveledge.
As they say, don't bitch at Burger King til they can't spit in your burger..
Bless their hearts..

He'll get his guitar. With Emmons just double the time they tell you.If they say 8 months figure 16 and so on. They've operated this way for 30 years......... |

I'm assuming after 18 months of prepaid money they send you a rebate for using your money that long. I don't think I would feel comfortable doing business with some of the things that has happened over the last few years. I think a busines should operate on its own money! I can see a down payment of a small amount, but prepay!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!

It doesn't take that long to build a house. I'd be livid. But they have you by the short and curlies once they have your money. There are a lot of customer service minded builders out there that would love the opportunity to build you a guitar.
