I have a 60s guyatone double 8 string console with gold foil pick ups. It has 3 pick ups, 2 on the closer neck, one on the far neck.
Unfortunately, the winding in one of the pickups has a break. I have been in contact with a couple places here in Canada that do pick up repair, but I have been informed that it may be difficult due to the lack of a traditional bobbin, meaning a "expanding mandrel winding machine" is required to repair this particular pick up.
I'd really like to repair the original pick-up because I like the sound and the look, but if it's not possible then I'd like to replace it with something similar.
Does anyone have experience with this type of problem? Any suggestions for repair places in the US? So far I have written to Lollar and Mojo in the UK. |

I absolutely have no idea if he can or would work on yours but this guy seems to have become the go-to guy for some of the tricky pickups such as the Fender trapezoids.

I have had Tom rewind old fender steel guitar pickups, and a couple weird old DeArmond pickups off an old Harmony guitar.. Check his website.. He rewinds ANY pickup, and he is really reasonable and really fast as well.. best prices around on rewinding old pickups.. Oh, yeah, and he's GOOD too,,,, bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!
