I would like to find a used stand that would work well for my JB frypan...I like to play standing up so I would want one with legs that can extend also.
Thanks in advance (BTW I had a Deluxe 34 stand and gave it to a friend as a gift..excellent stands !) Maybe something for less money. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

Larry,
Have you thought about laying it on an ironing board? |

Your fry pan would probably feel right at home atop your kitchen range. Hot tip -- don't light the burners.
Seriously, consider purchasing another Deluxe34. You get what you pay for. |

Maybe a dumb thing to be looking for...I will find something cheap that will work. I have access to keyboard stands that would probably fit the need. Thanks for the ideas. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

Larry I used a keyboard stand that worked extremely well. It was adjustable for standing or sitting, also adjustable length. I liked it much better than those X style stands, it was far more stable. I think about $70.
Lots of guys appear to do well using a walker too!

I've got a keyboard stand similar to this one:

I don't really use it anymore but when I did, I liked it better than the X-frame stands. Works good if you have a console that didn't come with legs as well. I'd probably trade it for a microphone or a vintage bar or something. Jack's advice is good though, your JB frypan deserves a Deluxe34 and there's probably a good reason that those stands don't depreciate much at all. |

Dick and Bill, that looks like the kind of stand that I am looking for. I cant think of anything that I might own that would be of equal value to trade for it...I only have one mic and all the bars that I have are newer ones that are the powder coated variety that Michael Hillman makes...that stand would probably be fairly expensive to ship...I will check locally with music shops and see if they have something like that. Thanks for the suggestions guys !! _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

I also have the keyboard stand that Bill posted about.
It's a great stand.
Only modification I made was to cut a half inch thick
plank the size of the stand and cover it with a soft
rubber shelf liner on both sides.
It keeps the guitar from sliding around and protects it.
The protective rubber strips provided were minimal at best. _________________ I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying. |
