on 6 string, since it's tuned C# E F# A C# E, the open strings 4-3-2, F# A C#, are an F#m chord.
A6 has the same pitch classes as an F#m7 chord.
There are also some slant bar F#m chords:
Strings 3-2-1 frets 4, 5, 5 (C#, F#, A)
Strings 4-3-2 frets 5-6-7 (A, C#, F#)
Strings 5-4-3 frets 2-3-4 (F# A C#, same as the open strings 4-3-2)
Enjoy

If your guitar is tuned E C# A F# E C# A F# you've got two F# minor chords open.
F# minor chord is F# A C#. |

Thanks, Erv. Of course, once I posted it I figured it out myself. I have an F# and C# at the 9th fret - 1st and 2nd, or 2nd and 4th strings....walks up nicely from the E chord that precedes it on the 7th fret! |

David - thanks for your help. I read the posts quickly, thought they were both from Erv! |

That's cool - and check the "search" features for past posts on A6, and the B11 - and even the C6 w/ high G tunings. |
