Not sure if it's available online or not, but it was awesome seeing the late great Gary Hogue playing his Emmons with Marty Stuart on Opry Encore on RFDTV last night.
In case you missed it, it will be shown again on Thursday at 5 AM, Friday at 5:30 PM, and next Sunday at 8 PM, all Central Time. |

Seeing Earl Scruggs on stage wasn't too shabby, either. Thems was the good old days ... |

While still residing in Ct., I was fortunate enough to hear Gary live with Marty at a local casino shortly before his passing |

There was Gary Hogue with Marty Stuart playing an Emmons and the other steel player was Teddy Carr on steel with Ricochet. Gary played an Emmons D-10 and Teddy played a Franklin D-10. Gary Hogue died after I started playing steel. He sounded great on the Emmons on Opry Encore. |

Here's a poem Marty wrote on the passing of his late steelman, Gary Hogue, in 2000.

Gary Hogue died the year after I started playing steel. He was a great player who always knew how to play with feeling. |
