New to the forum. I live in Oklahoma about an hour east of Tulsa and an hour from Springdale, Arkansas. I'm hoping to find someone who can instruct me in one on one lessons. Do you know of anyone in this area? Although I started playing in 5th grade, I moved to the banjo 7 years later. Haven't played in many many years.

Hello Joseph, welcome to the forum! You just missed the OKLAHOMA Steel Guitar Association monthly meet... http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=314044 I believe they come together on the 2nd Sunday, nearly every month, and generally always have someone that can provide a lesson and/or answer your questions.
Also, there is an Association in Siloam Springs http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=313770
I'm not certain how often they meet, but may be worth contacting?
If you're inclined, there is also the Oklahoma Steel Jam...these guys come together usually on the 2nd Saturday and have also been real kind to me, to show some things. Just visit the Events section for upcoming happenings, and don't be shy to ask around, someone will probably help you out? You really seem to be central to a good deal of players, shouldn't take much effort to find you an instructor...I'm at least 2-3 hours away from any of these groups, but there are steel players even in my area within a half hour drive, and I've gotten acquainted with many who have shared. _________________ “TONESNOB†|

Edward, that is very helpful. Had no idea there were so many in the area. I hope we get to meet someday.
