This is a pristine Williams S-12 Extended E9th Keyless guitar with all the latest copedant changes and a lacquer finish that you can have right now at a big discount. Reason for selling is that I am saving up for a D-12 keyless!

Normal price for this guitar is $3,495, ATA case option $100, Extra tandem knee lever $150, front apron abalone inlay $125 and extra floor pedal $125 for a total of $3,995. I am pricing this guitar at $3,250 so you save $745. Shipping is capped at $50 USA lower 48 states. I will pay any shipping charges over $50. Payment is either cash (in person) or PayPal.

Greg,
As you know, I've got 2 Williams D-12's. They're wonderful. Every day when I sit down to play, I'm happier than the day before. Whoever buys your S12 will be just as pleased. It's a great guitar at a great price. I'd be interested to compare your D12 copedent to mine.

Steve, never saw the copedant for your D-12. Can you post it or send me a copy? I will go with another Williams keyless in this color for the D-12. There are all sorts of great arguments for having the low extended E9th strings being G#/E, A/E and E/B. the low E is the common denominator and it opens up a whole new world of sounds for the tuning. The high F/D on C6 are instinctively easy and logical to play without messing up all the classic C6 grips and riffs.

The Williams model 700 workmanship is really stunning in its precision fit and finishing touches. This one has really quick and smooth action on pedal 1 which is important to get the higher speed riffs played crisply.

Greg,
, Here's my current copedent. I'm happy with it but it's always subject to change/improvement. I use a wound .022 6th on E9 for tuning stability but it makes lowering that string a full step tough so I raise the 7th a step instead. Ist string F# on C6 is interesting. I lower to F when needed with LKR. Interested to compare to your D12 copedent.
Thanks!![/img]

Steve, below is my D-10 copedant and the copedant for my Excel S-12 with switchable open tunings and levers. The Excel guitar is further detailed here:

http://www.gregcutshaw.com/Excel%2012%20String%20Keyless/Excel%2012%20String%20Keyless.html

My D-12 tuning would use the S-12 tuning on the Williams for E9th. I prefer having the low G#/E on strings 11/12 than E/B. The C6 12 string tuning would have the two chromatic strings on top as per my current Excel tuning. Both 12 string tunings are an absolute joy. While 12 strings are not a requirement over 10 strings, they make recording, practicing more fun. They allow more rhythm vamps and guitar type parts on E9th while offering more melodic possibilities on C6. I assume that the C to Ab listed on string 5 of your C6 copedant is really meant to be on string 6? Your pedal 3 is a mystery to me? I will try out adding the F# to F on your LKR tonight.

Greg,
You're right. The Ab change is on C6th string 6, not 5. Did that late at night in a hurry and made a mistake. I use pedal 3 mostly for the dominant 7 augmented and the minor, minor/major 7, minor 7 to minor 6 fifth string walkdown. I know the augmented is available one fret below and the walkdown can be done half pedaling but I just got used to this change in some certain situations. I've experimented with other changes on pedal 3 since I switched the e to F# to my LKR and may do so again. I'm kinda stumped as to what to try there. I do love the E to F# on the LKR, it opens up so many other possibilities. The unison spits with string 1 are very interesting.

If this was a U12 I would be all over it. I spoke with the builder this past weekend at the Dallas show. Bill and Tim are really great people. The Pictures don't do this guitar justice. The finish on the Williams Guitars is second to none. They had an S10 in this same color, It was amazing. The fit and finish and playability on the Williams was as good as any at the show, I played them all. If you want a 12 string E9th you should jump on this one.
