Hello all..I have a 400 ...cant rember the year..82?....anyway its been very reliable. Lately..the longer its on...hour or so..it starts hummminng and gets increases with time. It has been a very good amp. I hate to have to replace it....any thoughts? Thanks and God Bless all here.

| John, do you have the amp plugged into the wall direct or, are you going through a power strip with a two prong plug? Sounds like you may have something close to your amp causing the interference. |

If you turn the reverb to zero, does the hum stop?

| Its not a hard job, i have done electronic repair for about 20 years. If you do it yourself just get good quality caps, id recommend Nichicon brand. i have used them in PA eq and high power HF stuff as well, they are highly recommended and only cost a fraction more. |
