Is a Fender deluxe vintage modified tube amp a good amp to use with a Fender Stringmaster Double 8 Steel Guitar?

Jerry,
There have been a bunch of Fender amps that had the "Deluxe" name so it depends. I'm pretty happy with the sound my Stringmaster gets from my stock '67 Deluxe Reverb amp. Which deluxe amp have you got and how has it been modified?

Is the amp also known as the Fender Deluxe VM? Does it have DSP effects on board?

See link:

This amp was on the market around 2010.

If so, this is not a well-suited amp for steel per my personal preferences & opinion.

(FYI - I developed the Deluxe VM for Fender. It was aimed at the rock crowd and is a higher gain amp with extra crunchiness & distortion.)

Best Regards,
Sam

I have been wondering the same thing since Fender introduced the VM Deluxe, but never got the chance to try one out. A 40 watt 1x12 tube combo with built in digital effects looks like the perfect package to me as long as you can get good cleans from it. You can always ignore the distortion effects unless it breaks up too early.

It was the Fender Deluxe VM that I was interested in but I decided to go with a Fender Blues Junior III amp instead.

My son bought a new 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. I borrowed it and was really impressed by it. My PSG and tele sound really nice thru it. I have an old '64 DR and this thing is as good or slightly better. A very nice amp.
