What year did carter go to hollow shafts for weight reduction ?

Chuck, they started with hollow cross shafts and changed to solid sometime in 01 I think. They claim it only added about a pound and 1/2 to a D-10 8 x 5.

FWIW, I had a 99 and an 02 D10, both 8+8. The 02 weighed about four lbs more! |

it is hard for me to believe that hollow shafts would cause any noticeable difference in weight of the guitar ... case, cabinet, pedals, pedal rack ,legs, end plates, anything but hollow shafts...I may be wrong tho... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com
