Well unfortunately my speaker is damaged and needs to be replaced. I tried removing the speaker but something appears to be holding the speaker on. I unscrewed the 8 nuts completely off and it won't even wiggle. Is it stuck to paint or were they glued to the baffle? Can't really get in there to pry it up. What do you suggest?
Thanks

hold it about 8"-12" above a carpeted floor with the speaker facing straight up...

....and drop it.

What Donny said.

I removed the head first though. Easy-peasy.

I have used an off set screwdriver, (bent right angle), to pry under the speaker's edge, as I tap the screwdriver with a small ball peen hammer.

I removed mine about a month ago to replace it with an Eminence Double T, and found it very hard to get it off also. It's just a very tight fit on those 8 bolts. By the way, the Travis Toy 12 is a great speaker for the Nash. 112. I didn't dislike the original, but the double T is an improvement. I did have to remove the reverb pan also.

I believe even after prying mine loose from the cabinet & bolts, I had to also remove the chassis & reverb pan just to have clearence to be able to lift out the speaker & have the outer flange of the speaker to clear the top most bolt. A little bigger job than I thought.

remove the chassis and the reverb pan, this is a good time to spray clean the connectors and pots. Take advantage of the situation ! Smile

Yes! I plan on doing a little custom work to the amp while I'm at it. Might re-cover the cab and change out the grill cloth. Thanks guys for the quick replies. I really do love this forum.
