Does anybody have any shape or size of one of the above guitars with a factory installed vertical knee lever. If so would you mind taking some close up pictures of it and forwarding them to me. I have seen several with verticals all of which were different designs so I assume they were done after the fact. I have a handful of MCI parts I am would like to see if I can come up with a way to add a vert that is close to original if possible.

Jay, check out Lonestar Steels. lonestarsteelguitar.com

From what I understand, they are essentially, what was once MCI/EMCI.

Also, Carter and GFI verticals, I am told, will fit an MCI.

James, I would appreciate it very much if you could forward a few of those pics to me as I have most of the parts I think and need a photo that I can show a machinist to make the lever and maybe a stop for me.
Carters have smaller crosshafts so their parts won't work and Gene will only sell me parts if I have a GFI guitar. I will check Lonestar, thanks I didn't know about them.

Check with Jim Flynn at www.lonestarsteelguitar.com Jim bought alot of the MCI stuff that Roy Thomas had. Jim and his son still build steel guitars with the MCI Style mechanism.
