Anyone assemble a BMI changer. The shims on the sides of each finger are a bit tedious. Didn't want to use grease to hold them. Maybe Vasoline? I'm sure it needs to be something I can dissolve to prevent sticking. Any Idea what was used by the MFG? What do you suggest?

I took mine to pieces last year for a thorough clean. Had to assemble it minus one washer, as it wouldn't go back otherwise. Very odd. |

Jason, how did you get the washers to stay put? As a retired auto mechanic I have assembled many parts but I became frustrated with this. I considered petroleum jelly but I don't want something that will cause sticking later on.
Those washers measure different on each one. I used a digital calipers and talked to Don. He confirmed that they have a variable spec when new. I bought a bag of new and sure enough they vary. |

Don had told me once that he used stp for lubricant on the changer fingers.
