Anyone assemble a BMI changer. The shims on the sides of each finger are a bit tedious. Didn't want to use grease to hold them. Maybe Vasoline? I'm sure it needs to be something I can dissolve to prevent sticking. Any Idea what was used by the MFG? What do you suggest?

I took mine to pieces last year for a thorough clean. Had to assemble it minus one washer, as it wouldn't go back otherwise. Very odd.

Jason, how did you get the washers to stay put? As a retired auto mechanic I have assembled many parts but I became frustrated with this. I considered petroleum jelly but I don't want something that will cause sticking later on.
Those washers measure different on each one. I used a digital calipers and talked to Don. He confirmed that they have a variable spec when new. I bought a bag of new and sure enough they vary.

Don had told me once that he used stp for lubricant on the changer fingers. Tenn.lee

Send it to don and let him do the job and it will save you a lot of of problems, he also is very reasonable on price. I do a lot of re-builds but don is the best....thanks jack
