I have a Zum & changed the copendent Thus losing my 1/2 stop feel on my 2nd string. I contacted Bruce & was told he doesn't sell or make a tunable stop. Does anyone know if I could purchase one from another steel maker that would work on my Zum..
Thanks in advance

The Sierra type should work. It's a little spring that goes on the end of one of the hex nuts. At least I think that's all there is to it. I only had one like that and I never tried to tune the half stop. Contact Tom Baker. If it will work, he'll fix you up. Super guy.

If it's simply a spring at the hex nut, I wonder if it wouldn't work on most newer steels. I've been thinking of a couple half stops I'd like to try on my GFI and that just might do the trick.

Try and get ahold of an old Sho~Bud 1/2 stop. I've made that work on several different pedal steels. I'll bet Duane Marrs could help you out.

On some D-10s you can make a tunable half stop for the second string by adding an extra pull rod that pulls a string on the back neck. The point where the extra pull kicks in is your feel stop.

I have tried adding a rod but cant seem to make this work. My 9th string is now my b string so it has raises & lowers on it & I can't feel the 1/2 stop. I even tried the 7th string to no avail.

Jim,
Just do a search and send Duane an e-mail. I'm sure he would get back to you. Also, I have recently ordered and received some 1/2 stop kits from Ron @ Emmons. The Emmons 1/2 stop might work on your guitar also.
