I'm trying to find the right speaker for my beloved nashville 112. The original blue marvel melted in a hot car.
I've been running a Jupiter 4ohm ceramic speaker. I mostly like it, but I find that in some situations, there is a harsh sound (to my old ears anyway) on higher pitch notes. I don't seem to be able to eq my way out of it.
Just now I tried an 8ohm Eminence Delta-Lite that I bought for a different amp. Hard for me to tell exactly in my living room, but seems even more harsh. Funnily, this speaker sounds great in my Bandit 112, although the tone controls on that amp are on the bright side.
So- I'm thinking either an EPS-12c or a Travis Toy or a Telonics, if I can find one for a decent price. I'd like to go with a neo for weight reasons- I carry this thing around on average of 2-3 times a week.

I've only experienced the Telonics/N-112. Love it bunches. The combination sounds very smooth to my ears. Still a lot of presence when you need it.
Both necks.

I have the Travis Toy 12 in my Nash. 112 and I'm very happy with it. I do have a Telonics 15 in a cab and I'm sure that their 12 is a great speaker also. |
