The convention was great this year, but really doesn't emphasize non-pedals. I saw about 90% of the show, and only remember three performers without pedals. Gene Fields played a nice set on one of his own 10-strings that he builds (GFI). Chuck Lettes split his set between pedals and a frypan. And, of course, the highlight of the show was Tom Morrell. I didn't even see Scotty play his frypan this year. Sierra did have their lap steel there, but I never did get around to trying it. Rich

I believe it was Virgil Watts playing on stage Thurs (Hall of Fame Show) with Herbie Wallace, Russ Wever and one other great player I can't remember now. Anyway - Virgil is amazing. He plays a Stringmaster, think it had 3 necks. He was there last year as well.
