Seemingly a common occurrence over in the Pedal Steel section is folks supplying the serial number of their old Sho-Bud or Emmons (or whatever) to learn its build date.

Hoping someone here will possess and share their knowledge of OMI era Dobro serial number schemes. My 60-D's serial number, which is stamped on the end of its headstock, is:
