Our band does the live stream thing from many of our gigs and I thought it would be possibly a new feature on the forum where you post a notice of your upcoming gig for us to watch.

Right now I have it going through Facebook as they have an app on their website for this.

I invite you to stop by tonight and Saturday and watch some live music.

Go to Facebook to my page "Dicky Wood" and hang out with us. Every time I hit a clam you can make a comment or whatever you like.

Pretty kool idea ! Our gigs are pretty loose, you would need a large "OFF" button. Shocked

Don't pull my leg Tony cuz I've listened to many of your videos and you play just fine.

I personally would like to hear all the Forum members playing in live band settings. Maybe it will take off maybe it won't.

We will be there tonight so come on by and leave a comment or just hit like.

Dick
Here is a clip of a short lived band I was in this time last year . You may remember me as the one who murdered Silver Wings with your band in a bar back in behind some industrial area near Ft Worth about 4 years ago :

Ok Dicky, I'll bite.. Smile
I've never tried the live streaming thing, wouldn't know how to start, but I do have a Zoom camera, or do you just use a phone??

In lieu of streaming, here's some live stuff.

Two from Greuene Hall, TX with Houston Marchman last October. "Spankin' Hank" is live from a phone video, so the audio is sort of 'phone video' quality, and there are definitely some 'eeek' moments for the steel guitar pitch-wise..

Pump Jack Blues is off our live recording of the same gig, no video.. We record every gig in multi-track to a Mackie DL32, which doubles as our house mixer, so we get some good, and not so good moments.

Not Tonite is from a Houston Marchman gig in Fort Worth last Feb, phone video again, with a really lousy, acoustic heavy mix and not a lot of steel, but I like this one because my guitar looks so handsome on camera.. LOL.

Hi Brendan, yes I remember that evening very well. You had fun and that's what's important. The video looked and sounded fine. Do you have any more?

Well as of last night the live streaming on Facebook is over as they've temporarily blocked me saying I've infringed on copyright laws. I've been doing it a year and now they say no more without written approval from all the artists. It was fun while it lasted.

Live streaming sounds neat. I'd actually be interested in seeing some of the gigs other steel players are doing. I rarely get to hear many of the people I chat with on here and I think it would be a great way to hear great music as well.

Dang, BMI, ASCAP and any of the other blood sucking parasites always ruin everything. I remember one year at St Louis, they didn't broadcast Weldon's set because of these stupid copyrights and I had set by radio for hours waiting for him, LOL. I hope in the future, these suckers are outlawed and banned from society.
