The Mrs. and I enjoyed a wonderful set tonight, performed by Leslie Tom, with John Macy and Kerry Conner.
Vocals and guitar, we're used to that, but seldom delivered with the excellence that Kerry showed. Add pedal steel, it might seem an unlikely trio. Add John Macy on pedal steel, it was... complete.
Never overplayed, nor left wanting when the song needed a fill. Taste, dynamics, patience, chops, and a deep repertoire, John has these in abundance. The talent to sound so good while making it all about the singer and the song is intangible. I'm looking forward to more. This was outstanding! |

Dan, that is a great testament to a steel and guitar player. Can't get much better than that. That is what makes a professional, doing it correctly. _________________ Ray Harrison

As far as a steel guitarist goes.....they don't hardly come any finer than John Macy. I remember him in the John Lincoln and the Sourmash Boys in Boston, MA in the 70's. He was a great player then...and I'm sure that has carried on through the years. _________________ HAL...Excel D-10 w/ 8 & 5. Thanks, Hal! Those were some good times back then, and I'm still playing the same chop I showed off back then... _________________ John Macy
