There are so many cool ways to do a turnaround in a blues. Here are just a small number of 'em in C6th tuning. Many of them are transposable to other keys and a few are locked into the use of open strings. 'Hope you find 'em useful.

There is nothing more fun than listening to music and discovering that it is a variation on 12 bar blues or rhythm changes. The blues have been reharmonized a million different ways, and yet there are still fresh approaches being created. Sometimes the chords don't have anything to do with traditional blues harmony, but you can feel it in the form and the way the head comes to a close.

I have a notebook where Ii started writing down examples of every blues variation I could find, sometimes just an unexpected chord here and there. At the extreme, Chick Corea's Matrix is a blues and even though you can't tell by the changes, you can feel it.

All aspiring jazz musicians should learn and master these forms.

Very nice! Thanks. I noticed that most of these might translate to Dobro GBDGBD tuning as well by reversing a couple slants. Good jumpstart to the creative process.

Thank you very much for this service. Perhaps I can remember and keep some of these licks in the future.
