Quite a variety of different brands of guitars. I bet that was something to hear. |

Thanks for the photos!! Everyone who loves steel guitar and can make it out to Phoenix every January should put this event on your calendar. It will become one of two premier steel guitar shows in the USA. |

Jim, I just couldn't play my slot.
Since I was doing the scheduling I put myself last on Thursday. Well I should have put myself mid morning because come 11:00 PM my feet were so swollen I couldn't roll my ankle at all.
Hey, no biggie, you all have heard me play before. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

Jim: great photos! I'm afraid I didn't notice what you were shooting. What equipment did you use to take these shots?
Fred: yes, most of us have heard you play before, but that's not the point. YES, we want to hear you play again!!! _________________ 6-string guitars, saxophones, and Canon cameras. www.beaverfamily.net |

Yes, you are right, Guy, we would have liked to have heard Fred play; however, with swollen feet/ankles, it's pretty hard to get the pedals working as they should!
Thanks for the compliments on my photos, Guy; you guys certainly "outshot" me!!
Since you asked, my camera is an old Canon Digital Rebel XTi, about 7 years old now. I use a battery grip on the camera base to give more stability. The grip contains two batteries, thus increasing my shooting capacity. My basic lens is a Canon 18 − 55mm IS. For closeup shots, I use a Tamron 75 − 300mm LD Tele-Macro lens. Before shooting, I use a ColorRight White Balance Filter, enabling me to obtain the correct colour temperature of the scene in different shooting positions & locations. I shoot in both JPEG and RAW formats, allowing better colour correction during post processing. Three other important items are the use of a good external flash; I use a Canon Speedlite 580 EXIL, mounted on an external flash bracket, getting the flash off the camera, thus reducing red eye and providing a firmer grip on my equipment. This also provides for better “modelling†of people in the photos. Attached to the top of the flash, I use a “Lite - Scoop†reflector/diffuser which diffuses the light reaching the subject. Surprisingly, this device was produced locally; I found out about it as the producer @ Lite Genius visited my photo club a few years ago. I hope this info is useful. |

I hope the illness gets better soon for ya Jim.
It's great to see old friends like Ray Harrison and Doug Childress again, it's been a while. With them two together would have been great, wish I could have been there. With the grandkids in Tucson, when I visit them I'll arrange the time next year hopefully. |

Fred Justice, Yes we've all heard you play before, and that is why we missed your set. We would have enjoyed yet another great talented steel player whose tone is superb. _________________ Ray Harrison
