Topic: Which Lace Alumitone for Mullen Discovery? |

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to change out the original single coil pickup in my Mullen Discovery and looking for opinions about which pickup to choose.
It's going to be either the ToneBar 10 or possibly the Robert Randolph Steel King. I want a traditional tone and actually like the stock Mullen single coil, but can no longer deal with the hum.
I'm guessing that the Steel King is more of a specialty beast designed more for the 'rock' style that Randolph plays, but don't really know. That's why I am assuming the ToneBar 10 is the correct choice for a traditional tone.
Thoughts/opinions please?
Also, is installation fairly simple of these type of pickups? The Lace website is not the best in providing installation instructions/support....

I am. Super clear sound, virtually no hum in any venue I've used them in. I'd go for Tone bar.

I'd make sure it'd fit. Mullen uses the narrow mount, and my memory says it'll be a tight fit.
I'd ask Mike Mantey.

I'm a big fan of the Alumitone on my Carter for the reasons that Kevin stated. I'm not familiar with your guitar but installation was straight forward on mine.
The pickup was "hotter" than my previous so I ultimately lowered it a tad.
Plenty of bite and much clarity to my ear.
It has performed flawlessly over the 3+ years I've used it.
Ones guy's experience.

Thanks for all the input gents! I just bought that purdy red Sho-Bud Pro 1 from Damir that he had recently listed for sale, so the Mullen will be relegated to my backup for now.....
