"Steelin' Away" in true Issac's style now on Ray's Page at the jerrybyrdfanclub.com site, is provided as an example of "the sound" that he established with Webb Pierce's hit record "SLOWLY". Bud's creation was so well enjoyed, that Floyd Cramer and others ofted to use it to one degree or another in their own piano playing styles.
For those inquiring about "aluminum necks" and wondering how they might sound when compared to wooden necks.....this is an excellent example. This was played on a 1956
Quad BIGSBY with six pedals, played thro an Echolette and early 15" Fender Bassman amp.
Hope some of you will like it.

You nailed it! Great playing and great sound!

Scotty's has a course with "Steelin' Away" in E9 but apparently this is a different song by Lloyd Green (Item #TS0003) http://www.scottysmusic.com/topstar01.htm

I would really like to learn Bud Isaac's "Steelin' Away".

I found Ray's tuning here: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/006125.html

Does anyone do this song in "standard" E9 ?
Stings 4,5,6,7 are the same...
