Topic: Installing a C6 neck |

Here I am again with another question lol... I was wondering if the C6 neck (all the pedals, levers, etc.) could be installed on my Derby SD-10.
I know that Mr. Stepp passed away a few years ago, but I was wondering if someone still worked on his guitars and such.
Are the parts still available, such as the neck and stuff?
Because I would definitely want a matching neck! I wouldn't want an Emmons neck, or any other brand neck, on there. (No offense to Emmons!)

And I live in MS... The closest pedal steel place is the one in Nashville.. Do they do stuff like this??

| For the cost, which will certainly be in the 1200+range in parts only..... or installl...my bet is that you are far better off offering a trade for a D10 or if you want to keep it... investing in a second guitar.... Many players who only play E9 looking to move down in weight where they can. |

I agree with Tom. Probably better off to trade or sell yours and buy a D10. SD10's are very desirable these days and should sell fairly quickly assuming a reasonable asking price.
I'm not sure if all the original Derby parts can be acquired. Later SD10 Derby endplates were not worked for D10's. Quite a bit of work to install all the components needed to make a double out of an original single. Lot tougher than the reverse.
I see a few Derby D10's around here and the online auction sites come up from time to time. If you want to stay with that, you can probably find one with a little patience. |
