My Goodrich L120 makes noise. I was going to buy a new pot from Tonetronix but my amp guy says he can clean the old pot. Is it worth it? I would rather fix it the way that will last the longest without trouble.

Thanks

Replace the pot. Cleaning will not last long at all on a volume pedal.

The Allen Bradley pots that used to be around are definitely worth cleaning as the carbon elements and wipers generally respond well to that. The newer pots such as the PEC's, etc often use a plastic element that doesn't respond as well to cleaning and should be replaced with the new Goodrich pot.
