I bought this little gem here on the forum from Robert Murphy, who did a great restoration job and added an inconspicuous internal pickup. We believe it was made in the 1930's by Regal for More Harmony Music Studios. It sounds very sweet and Hawaiian. I have it tuned G B D E F# A D, adding a middle E string to my Stella tuning.
The top is a single piece, painted to look like two pieces of wood and fancy inlay.
A label on the case tells us that the original owner was Harold somebody from Nelsonville, Ohio. It's amazing that it survived all these years. Does anyone know Harold's last name? Looks like it might be Harold Lewis.

Cool guitar. Would love to hear a clip of it with your tuning......as I love the idea of 2 whole-tone spacings right in the middle of your tuning. |

I love the sound! It seems like your D9/G6 (?) can be retuned from the G6 or G13 tunings I use on 7 and 8 string dobro. The B to A might get a little flabby. What gauges are you using?

I'm not saying these are the best gauges for the tuning. Still experimenting. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
