I have just purchase a GFI SM 10 .An I'm learning how to play. THe question I have is how do I set up my Peavey classic VTS bass/mid / treble / presents . The reason that I am asking is I wear hearing aids. I also have a Fender Frontman 25 amp. Thanks Jerry |

I'd turn the bass up til it gets "woofy" and then back it off a little bit. The High and presence, you'll probably want them around 12 o'clock. The mid will probably sound best around ten o'clock. Run the gain about 3 and the master volume all the way up. Use the volume pedal to turn it down to reasonable levels. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Jerry, I got hearing aids about 3 months ago. You will probably need to turn the volume down on the hearing aids to avoid feedback and distortion. Mine have a remote control, I can adjust any of the 4 basic settings. Yours might be different. But usually they are set up too loud for playing a musical instrument. I explained this to the audiologist, but they are used to people that just want to restore normal hearing. If you have a so called "music" program on the hearing aids, try that but lower the volume until you don't have distortion or feedback. You might have to go back to the audiologist, explain what you are doing and ask them to make adjustments. Good luck. |

I use a Peavey Heritage VTX... a two channel 120W version of the Classic VTX.
Great amp... one of my favorites for both steel and six string.
Put a 12 inch steel guitar speaker in the amp and it will be full and focussed. No comparison with the stock Scorpions... which remain one of my favs for six string guitar cabs. |
