I'm looking for an attenuator for my 50 Watt tube amp. 4 ohm speaker.

Thanks!

Rick, if you find anything reasonably priced that works well, I would be interested in hearing about it, either here or in a new thread over in Electronics. I have a 65 Watt Solid State (8 Ohm) that might get more use if I could calm her down a bit. Thanks.

Good luck in your search. Cool

Will do Michael. However, I've never heard of using an attenuator on a solid state amp. The reasoning behind using them on tube amps is that with tubes the amp is more responsive with the volume cranked. I'm not sure this is the case with solid state, which I think are designed to be consistent all the way through the volume range. Again, another topic worthy of discussion in electronics I'm sure.
