Such huge talent. I loved his work, & still do, on Hank Thompson's "Seven Decades." If any steeler doesn't have that CD, I sure recommend it. Lots of great steel.

Back to Back CD with Junior and Gary has some fabulous steel guitar from both guys and a little help from Marty Stuart here and there.

It's right up there with the rest in my CD pile.

The Guitar Gary is playing here is now owned by my buddy Jim Lindsey... My Steel which Jim Lindsey bought brand new, was a clone to Gary’s Steel except for the unplanned difference in the inlay,... Jim sold the “clone” in order to buy Gary’s guitar... Who know’s how many hands mine went through before Mickey Adams got a hold of it, and then blessed me a few years later by selling it to me.

Gary and Jim, and played the wheels off of both these guitar’s... so much so that very little was left for me Very Happy Laughing Very Happy

Thanks Paul for posting! For anyone else that wants to view some great things about Gary Hogue, Jim Lindsey and I created this Facebook tribute page a while back in memory and tribute to him. He was a great friend to many, and was very, very special to Jim and I through the 70s, 80s and 90s. Fantastic steel player and a great mentor to me personally.

There are stories, pictures and links to a good number of videos. Smile

Gary was an incredible player, as is Jim... and pretty sure that neither Jim or I will let these two guitars go till someone can pry them from our cold dead hands... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks for your kind comment on my playing, but I’m certainly no Paul Wade

Glad Scott put a link here to Gary’s Facebook page... Lots of good stuff there... Some really nice stuff with Gary and Junior, that I think is among the best playing I’ve heard anywhere.
