Does any one know the exact torx bit that bud carter used in assembly.My T 10 strips the flutes out.

Don't have an answer, but that is one of my biggest. I have some bellcranks that I couldn't get the screws out. They're just sitting there doing nothing.

| It is a #10. We used to dress them often with a grinder or file. They are useless when worn. I have seen a lot of question why Carter used a Torx. The reason is it has a lower profile than a hex or standard screw. When using the lowest slot on the puller you need that extra room. |

As John S said, grind the tip down, or go buy a brand new, GOOD quality T 10... Also, if you have a good quality HOT soldering iron or gun, lay it against the threads close to where it goes into the part, get it really hot before you try and back the screw out.. For reasons I will NEVER understand, John Fabian and Bud Carter, both GREAT pedal steel builders, used locktite on those tiny threads.. Probably the worst idea they had when they designed and started building their otherwise wonderful Carter pedal steel guitars.... bob

I have been through several T-10's. there are some of the screws that are so tight will have to drill them out if I want to remove them.
