There is no Line Out on the back of my old Evans; however, on the front there are 1/4" Out and In jacks for effects. Would it be appropriate to use the Out jack as the Line Out?
I've tried connecting that jack to another guitar amplifier and know that the signal coming from the Effects Out jack on the Evans is post tone controls and reverb. Any adjustments to tone and reverb show up at the other amplifier. Turning the Master Gain control, on the Evans, up and down has no effect on the other amplifier.
Our p.a. system has both XLR and 1/4" inputs, by the way. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

It sounds like a line out to me. If it's too quiet for a line-level input, plug it into an input. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lee , if you use the effects out, it will be a very low line level signal and no reverb. Sometimes, to low for some mixer preamps.
The best thing to do would be get a DI box that is capable of speaker voltage and hook up to extra speaker out jack and if don't have one of those (jack), just hook to speaker wires parallel with speaker. Peavey makes them and they work great and recreate a the true sound of the amp. _________________ Henry Matthews

Well, I took the Evans to rehearsal yesterday evening.
It worked...sort of. The signal to the board was fine, and it appeared to be after the preamp and reverb; however, the signal getting to the power amp on the Evans was weak. I had to crank the Master Gain way higher than I normally would. When I removed the cable going to the board, all was well again.
