Does anyone have a cache card for a TubeFex with Jeff Newman presets that they would be willing to sell, rent, or loan to me please?
Thanks for any replies...
Fred

Fred, I have them on a Peavey Midi Filer. If you are every up my way I would be glad to load it up. Hopefully it does have the battey-less mod?

Thanks Ken. I'll lift the cover and check it out... I did and it still has the battery. It's clean as new, no corrosion or leakage, but I want to install the battery-less mod. Do you still have them?

Ken, PM sent.

Fred

Fred, I can loan you a card but it only has Profex II programs. Maybe I could send it to Ken, if he would load it and mail to you. You could load your Tubefex then return the card to me and we could reimburse Ken for his mailing expense and trouble. Will the Profex II card work for Tubefex settings?

Thanks for your offer Jerry, but I've been told that the Profex settings leave out a valuable part... The tube section.
I'm hoping someone in in the area (Florida) might have one and could help me out...
Thanks again, my friend.

Fred,
Check out Jack Stoner's web page. It had presets for the tubefex units that you can manually program into your unit.

Thanks David. I contacted Jack previously and may manually load the presets. I was hoping for an easy fix.. Laughing

Fred, I left those Tubefex/TranstubeFex programs on my web site but they will require tweaking to taste. but a start.

The Profex II programs do not use the tube preamp, just straight digital. I don't recommend them for the tubefex, even modified.

Jack, does the Tubefex take a different card than the Profex II? I mean can Tubefex programs be loaded onto an Profex II card.
Thanks,
Jerry

Same card. When I had a Transtube Fex I bought a Peavey Cache Card from Carter Guitars and it came pre loaded with the Newman Profex II programs. The Newman programs mostly work in a Tube/Transtube Fex but do not utilize the tube preamp.

Jack, my point is that I could send my Profex II card to someone who has a Tubefex and they could load it with Tubefex settings and return it to me?

Jack, I have a Tubefex that I have never used. I have two Profex II cards. If I put a new battery in one of the cards could I send it to you and have you load it and either send it back to me or to Fred if he still needs help? Of course I would reimburse you the postage and pay you for your time.
Thanks,
Jerry

I don't have a "fex" unit anymore. Sold my Transtube Fex about 10 years ago when I broke up my stereo system.

Fred, I checked my Tubefex and it does have settings. I need to replace the battery in my card and see if I can load it. If I can I will load the card and I can send it to you on loan to load into your Tubefex. Please tell me if I have a potential problem. My display does not seem to light up. I can read the black lettering on it but see no background lighting like the Profex II has. I can't read it in the dark. Is yours that way? I don't think it will affect the working but could be a problem in a dark situation. I had bought the unit and never turned it on.

I have a Tubefex that that has the same issue with the back light, Worked for a while then went out. Unit also has a bad card reader, due to battery damage. Unit still works, just hard to read in the dark.

Got as battery-less mod on the way to Fred today as well

Jerry, my display lights up fine, but I'm going to replace the battery with Ken's mod. Thank you for your offer! I'll PM you my address.
Ken, thanks for the fast service. Hope all is going well with you. Haven't seen you since we played for Ernie's service...
