Last week I had the great pleasure of playing pedal steel for forumite Chris LeDrew who as many of you know is a very fine steel player in his own right. This time, however, he was fronting the band and I got to play steel and I was thrilled to be invited to do so. The occasion was the release of his new CD "Art of the Confessor", which was recorded in Nashville and produced by the most excellent Josh Grange, who is also a steel player and a member of this forum. The venue was packed, and Chris had assembled a band of some of St. John's finest musicians. Congratulations to Chris on a fine record. Here's a couple of pictures taken by St. John's photographer Erin O'Mara - one of Chris and one of me playing his fantastic Jackson guitar.

Bob it was a pleasure to have you on the gig. You came quite a ways to play with us, and I greatly appreciate it. This gig celebrates the value of the Steel Guitar Forum as a place where true, lifelong friendships can be cultivated. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

It's true - Chris and I first connected because we learned of one another on the Forum - just one of countless friendships that b0b's endeavour has fostered over the years.
Information about Chris and his new cd can be found on his website: http://www.chrisledrew.com |

Sounds like a great time. Congrats to both of you on what must have been a fine gig -- lots of amazing musicians in St. Johns. |

Sorry to hijack here... Hey Canadians - I'm a Californian currently living in Toronto - I'd love to meet more of the local steelers - I already know a couple... I'd be interested in hosting a little steel get together. Anybody near Toronto up for something like that? _________________ Mostly Pre-1970 guitars. |

Have Chris' three albums (all available on iTunes) on a playlist which runs on random on my iPhone in the car on occasion. Talented guy, and a character, but don't tell him I said anything nice. |

You are sounding good and looking good Chris. I can't believe it's been ten years since I was up there working.
Keep it up!

Thank you, Doug! Yes it's hard to believe it's been that long. I recall we managed to scare up a few beers. Hope we get to do that again! _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
