The Fishman Aura boxes are programmed to simulate some aspects of the Dobro tones, and they'll mainly adjust the overtones to get some elements of the timbre to sound like Flux (or I think you can also download some Mike Auldridge images, which will be a little brighter and sparkly). But if you have a raspy left hand or noisy fingerpicks on the right, you'll have elements of Jerrytone (or Miketone), with some extra noise.
The Bradshaw box might help, but I'm not sure it'd help more than the Aura. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks Lane I just got through reading your post about the EQ box. lane I am trying to get a little more dobro tone out of my dobro console. I cant play a regular dobro I cant play on lap back and leg problems and cant stand so jimmie built me a dobro console. any way what do you think about a bradshaw box along with a EQ box if so how would you chain them togather I cant afford a aura they are kind of pricey any way thanks |

I'd surely try the Bradshaw box: I think Tom has a satisfaction guarantee (or buy through Jim Palenscar, who does).
Be aware that the knobs and box are designed so that, if you're careful and methodical, you can get both the spider and biscuit cone sounds.
This means that there are only a few settings that will sound good, and a LOT of combinations that sound like a catfight in a steel garbage can.
Take the time to dial it in and it should make you happy. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

The Aura is designed to be driven by the "Nashville" bridge pickup, not the cone mounted older style pickup.
