I recieved the amp new from the factory in May, 2015. Never gigged , never out of my music room. No issues. Comes with original cover, 9 volt connector, owners manual and all paperwork.
I'll put up some photos as soon as I figure out how, but I can email some right now. Looks like a new quilter should.
$1000. Firm, and that includes FedEx air shipping to your door. I'd like to ship it in a flight case, at my expense, and I'll prepay for the return shipping of the flight case, at your convenience , by Fedex air. I really want this to arrive safely.
US postal money order preferred , or your bank check if it's easier. No trades, thanks.

I'm looking for one of these.
I would like to ask you about maybe meeting up 1/2 way? I am in West Fort Worth.
I'm not sure where you are though.
If we can meet up maybe you could fudge on the price a little since there won't be any shipping.
Can you take a PayPal payment?
If we can make a deal on all the above then maybe I will have me a new amp.

I just got mine... and was I ever surprised with this amp... I have never seen one in person, so judging from the pictures I always thought they are the size of Session 500 or close to it..but no, this is a fairly small size amp, little bigger then 112, and its probably as heavy as my brief case  ... your back will be thankful...very thankful

How would you describe the sound compared to other steel amps?

Bob,
I'll attempt to answer the question, but it's a challenge, as we all hear things differently, and tone is subjective. The other factor is there are many steel amps , and while I've owned most of them , I haven't owned them all.
My wife thinks I've owned them all at the same time.
The Steelaire has a warmth to it , unlike any solid state amp I've heard, while having a Big, clean , clear tone. The low mid and high mid makes the EQ easy to pinpoint the mids, and the three knob reverb is fantastic. For me , having the dwell controll really helps shape the reverb, which for me is a critical part of "my sound".
I don't want to start a flame war, but I had two of the most popular " boutique " tube amps while I owned the Quilter. They were great amps, and I enjoyed owning them. I may own another at some point. I ended up selling both the tube amps as I preferred the Quilter tone.
Another feature, While not specifically tone related , is the effects loop and the 9 volt powered line out. I can have a tiny stomp box for just a hair of delay stashed in the back of the amp , with nothing to hook up or plug in for throw and go gigs. Add to that the leg mount controller , if you care to switch effects on the fly. Lots of cool useful features for a very reasonable price.
I think it's hard to go wrong with any of the new steel amps, and I've tried many of them.
The Quilter is the most attractive to me . |

Bob,
Me and the wife are downsizing, and I can only keep a few amps. I'm never going to sell my vintage blackface fenders, so everything else has to go. I can gig with the old fenders, even though the weight is unattractive.
Im having a hard time explaining why I need to keep a Deluxe, Super, Twin, AND a new steel amp.
Im afraid the wife is about to find out how much gear I really have. The next question on the horizon is " why do we need so many steel guitars?"
I wish I could say I was selling the Quilter because I was getting another cool amp, but no,
I just need to thin the herd. |
