Hi all!
I just seen a YouTube video that had a steel player by the name of ...I think ...Joe McGuffee.

Does anyone know about Joe and his steel playing with Ray Stevens?

If you have any information about him and where he might be today, please post your information on here for me.

I do know JD Maness did Misty with Ray to, but I never heard of Joe McGuffee if thats the correct spelling of his name.

Here is the video link so you can see him play Misty on Ray Stevens show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wyAdBVTCjU

Thanks!

Don

Here's one link for Joe. There's another thread about his playing with Linda Ronstadt too if you care to search it out.

Looks like the YouTube clip in that thread has been removed, so I'll just have to imagine what I missed out on hearing. Sad

Sorry Don, I didn't preview it...just linked to the old thread.

I really don't know anything else about his work with Ray Stevens.

Here's the Ronstadt video. It does work. Winking

Thank you Jerry!

That was a nice clip of Joe on the video. I was wondering if Joe is still around, do you know?

I would like to learn that break on Misty that he did back in that year.

If anyone knows where i can get a video lesson on video or the tabs let me know. One other thing is Joe still around ( alive)does he have a Facebook account or website?

Thank guys!

Don, Joe McGuffee was a member here at one time. I don't know if he's still active, but this thread has a post, the only one he made here. I have no idea if his contact info is still accurate.

Don..The solo that Joe plays on this video is nearly a note for note version of J.D.'s recording. The tab is available in a book/DVD titled, 'Get Inside' where J.D. narrates a short explanation of each solo that is tabbed out (many from his work with the Desert Rose Band). It also contains an interesting interview portion.
