I have read some posts of guys wondering how to wire up a set of BL710 that come with the (red wire) for split coil. I am offering up the way I do it in case someone has plans to do this job themselves.
Cheers,
Mike

Here is a picture of Mike's work on my guitar :
Mike is fast becoming Nashville's go to guy when it comes to this stuff and fixing/refurbishing tube amps. He's the best in my book. |

I believe, and probably should google it first, that on the 705, there are more wires than that.
FROM MEMORY (which may be flawed): Black to ground, white to tip, red and green tied to one side of the switch, the other side goes to ground. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Yeah, maybe the newer 705s have the 4 wire model. At least with the 710s the two red wires cannot be joined in a D10 config. joining the pickups together will cause them both to send signal to the output. The reds must be isolated from each other and a DPST or DPDT switch will do the trick.
Either way it's not only fun to do, but these pickups sound great to my ear on both my Mullen and Show Pro. _________________ I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Right. I was thinking that red and green should tie together, each at its own leg of the DPST switch.
But if there's no green wire, then what you have is dead right. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
