Sacred Steel pioneer Willie Eason was influenced by his brother Troman (ca. 1900-1949) who took Hawaiian steel guitar lessons from a Hawaiian remembered only as "Jack." In a recent interview with Troman's oldest daughter she stated that Jack played over the radio in Philadelphia at about 2 pm ca 1938, or earlier. Troman called the station and arranged to take lessons with Jack at the station.

I'd be very interested in info which might lead me to learn more about Jack, especially his last name.

I haven't spoken with Ralph Kolsiana about this recent development yet, but plan to call him today.

Thanks,

Bob
