While I'm stuck here in the 1970's Smile here's another of my all-time favorite tunes...Paul Cotton's "Bad Weather". It's off Poco's album "From the Inside". The tab will take you up through Rusty's break which modulates to a key change at the end of it. Corrections, comments, etc always welcome. (if anyone wants the acoustic guitar intro, let me know - I'm thinking about tabbing that out as well)

Here it is on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soWQ6huD8oc

I did the break in the key of A (I think) - it allows for a nice unison sound in measures 5, 6 and 12: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=163502&highlight=weather

Thanks, Frank, I'll check it out. I was really surprised the original recording is in Ab...I don't know if that had something to do with vocal ranges and harmonies or what. That would also be a capo job for the acoustic guitar to ring as it does. Interestingly later versions of live performances I found on youtube are in A.

My guess is they all tuned down half a step in the studio to keep the "normal" guitar voicings you'd get in the key of A, and to help with the vocals.

The ability to add that unison voicing is definitely a plus

Thanks to both of you, Jeff and Frank. Great job tabbing a great song.
