Just noticed the small set screws on the pedal bar between pedal 1 and 2 and 3 on my Zum D10 were very loose. I tightened them with my hex allen wrench and was just wondering how snug these should be?. Would appreciate any help;. I'd think tight, but not he-man. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Somewhere between "kinda tight" and "real tight" if you put the Allen key in this: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tork-grip.html _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

When it comes to screws, too loose is better than too tight. Too loose & you could lose the screw, resulting in a trip to Ace Hardware. Too tight & you can strip the hex, the threads in what it goes into, or at the very least make it impossible to remove.
Blue Locktite can be your friend. At least it is when I work on my Harley.(Which is a helluva lot easier than working on my steel) _________________ A couple D-10s,some vintage guitars & amps, & lotsa junk in the gig bag. |
