Dear Wayne, I do not know to much about pedal steels and I have posted a wish for a used one in the "buy" section. Looking at this it seems like a reasonable PSG. Unfortunately I have no opportunity to pick it up so I would please ask if shipping to Houston is possible?
Thanks, Pef Erik |

I posted a response 10 minutes after this guitar was posted. I was the first forum member to respond. This was back in January of this year. Without any response from the seller "ever", I see today that the guitar has been sold to someone else (whom I do not know). To me this is "shady" business and not the way a forum brother uses our forum to buy and sale. |

You are exactly right Allen.
But, the seller did say "local sale only".
So I guess that even if you had offered to drive to OK, you would not have been a local.
BAD business practice. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. Also, the edit was made yesterday about Oklahoma sale only. I still have had no courtesy call or any response to me about buying the steel. |

I believe it is common knowledge that you can sale or not sale to anyone you please on this forum. Maybe I am wrong, but I am ok with that too. |

Hey, sorry about that guys. My initial offering of the steel was to no shipping. The absolute first offer I received was through pm. I immediately called the individual. He is coming to me for the steel. I was at church last night and have been at work all day. I'm a jet engine mechanic and cannot keep my phone with me. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Respectfully,
Wayne |

Savell, why put something on here for sale if you're not planning on selling it????? A courtesy phone call only takes a few minutes, might even make a friend. Just my opinion here also: the PM method has a blind side that can allow someone to sell something without anyone really knowing the true date and time, only the buyer and seller. Anyway, just my two cents worth, none of us will know the difference in a hundred years anyway. |

Reflecting on the comments here, when I am interested in a sellers item, many times I DO NOT write anything in the thread, I send an EMAIL and a PM. If I make the purchase without making a comment in the thread it may appear that someone who posted in the thread was overlooked. I guess what I am saying is that all is not what it may appear to be on the internet. When I do this it's as much of a test of communication as it is about the item for sale.
When I sell, many times the same thing happens, a buyer who DID NOT POST sends me a PM or an EMAIL.

Actually, that seems to be the case more often than not. Many people I have contacted have received messages and emails with no posting on the thread. I usually post on the thread to make sure the seller knows I have sent a message, just in case it doesn't get through. Even if the ball gets dropped sometimes, it sure looks like most folks here are trying to honor first come first served as well as conditions of the sale. Sure haven't seen any intentional snubbing, what would be the point? IMHO |

I don't know that first come-first serve is a hard and fast rule. I think the seller has the option to take the best-fit sale. For example, if a local offer with no shipping burden occurs after a cross country offer, I don't think taking the more convenient sale is verboten - unless the seller has already committed to the first buyer. |

Tony, I agree wholeheartedly. That's what I meant by conditions of the sale. Bottom line the seller has the right to sell to Whoever Whenever if at all. But I do believe that most sellers here are pretty courteous about it. |

I have bought and sold on here for 11 years very comfortably and the sellers got the right to sell to who he wants: But if that is the way to do business I don't want any part of it. |
