Hi guys,
My reso has a Fishman Nashville pickup, and I will be playing with a band plugged in using a pedal board that will have the Fishman Jerry Douglas Aura imaging pedal on it.
I'm looking to add a tuning pedal to the board, and I like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006ZLZO72/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2O1A8NNN5Y1TU
My reso is tuned in DADF#AD, but I can't tell whether the Polytune will work with that tuning. Does the pedal automatically detect the pitches? Or do you have to select a specific mode that contains that tuning? The reviews I've seen don't address this issue.
If this pedal won't work for me, I'm open to suggestions...thanks! |

Looks like it automatically detects _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

The guy from Sweetwater just called me back...it doesn't work with any tunings other than standard spanish guitar tuning and "Drop D."
Looks like I'll just go with a plain jane chromatic tuner like Boss or Korg. |

I use it mando, dobro, reso, and 6-string. It works great. |

I use the Peterson Stomp classic in my dobro pedal board - it has the Dobro sweeteners in it and works perfectly.

I agree with Paddy, and use the Peterson StroboStomp Classic, after the Fishman JD Aura, and it serves nicely as a DI (XLR out) if you are taking it straight to the console, and 1/4" if you aren't.
Best of luck,

I just have a Boss TU-3 on the board right after the JD aura (actually, in the effects loop of a Baggs DI I use for EQ when needed and to equalize the output of the banjo I plug into it through an input switch)...works great.. _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com

Pedal tuners are very liberating. Look for a "chromatic" tuner to detect and meter all 12 pitches. Boss, Korg, everybody makes them. I've got a Hardwire. Fine except for battery mode. It eats batteries. |

I really like the Peterson tuners as they don't affect the tone when placed in line. I like the old Boss TU-12 tuner, also, but not in line as it does affect the tone. |

I've had several Peterson tuners in the the past but I just put a Sonic Research ST300 turbo mini strobe tuner on my six string pedal board and love it, even more than the Peterson's. Check them out on youtube. |
