In the Wayback Machine, there's a snapshot of my web site from just before I started the Forum. It's Dec 2, 1996 - the Forum was born on Dec 28 (I think).

Check it out.

I remember that page, and Brad's page of steel were the first steel sites I found my first time on the information super highway.
I didn't even have a computer at the time. It was from a HAM radio/computer geek friend's house.

Before the forum, at least before the forum as we know it now, we had a steel guitar group on AOL. When b0b told us about the Steel Guitar forum we all left the AOL group for this forum.

What do you know- If you follow that link to the tunings section, there's a page where I talk about my pedal steel tunings in 1996. There wasn't much stuff on the web about steel guitar in those days.

I do remember the old AOL forum that preceded the SGF. It might have even been before the World Wide Web. The days of Gopher and Usenet. I remember seeing Buddy post there, along with Paul Franklin, and Hal Rugg, among others. Many of the longtime members here were folks I first encountered there.
