Hey Guys..been a while since my last visit here. I have a Sho Bud Fingertip and need tuners..Are they a special size/dimension or can I go buy a set of Grovers or something for guitars? |

I believe that James Morehead uses the new 16 to 1 Grovers. _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!

Take one off, measure the shaft length, with and without the body. Then measure the shaft hole size.
Grover 210's are approx 1" shaft without the tuner body, 1.3 " with the tuner body. The shaft hole size is approx .4 ".
Specs are easy to find on line.
If you can use these they are recommended if you can't find originals.

I think you're right Ricky, those are Grover sta-tite tuners. John mentioned those type a while back ,they are also available in 18:1 ratio available at Stew-Mac and Amazon...Stormy. |

Right. 18 to1, not 16 tu 1. Do new string holes have to be drilled in the shafys? _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!

Yes its the kind we put on Lloyd Green's Lightening bolt fingertip when I restored it.
James Morehead made the keyheads and put the tuners on; so I don't know what he did...ha. But here's how that part came out.

Ricky,
When I zoom in, it looks like James cut the concave ends off the shafts and re-drilled new holes?
