Hello , i am pretty new at this so please forgive my ignorance . Can anyone suggest a simple to operate old school just knobs to turn steel GUITAR RACK MOUNT pre-amp THAT will not break the bank in the $200 or less range new or used ? like everyone else I'm getting old and weight is a big factor . And not to sure about the new light weight combo amps on the market these days . thanks in advance for any input here ! _________________ GFI D-10 Ultra, Peavey Nashville 112, Goodrich 120 . |

Welcome to the forum! Are you set on just a preamp? I'm sure someone will recommend a Quilter Tone Block. I see them go on the forum for about $250. |

An older Roland GP-100 maybe what you are after. It is programmable but also has plenty of knobs to twist and turn if you so like. They are well built and were top-of-the-line in their day.
They sounds really nice for a box not specifically designed for steel.

I the cost is a major consideration, the Line 6 Pod XT works well. It's not a rack mount, but you can probably get a used one for about 100.00. |

Thank you for all the suggestions, please keep them coming in . so far I am leaning towards the GK 200 bass head or its next step up the 500 nothing like head room. _________________ GFI D-10 Ultra, Peavey Nashville 112, Goodrich 120 . |
