I played archtop rhythm guitar on Tim Rushlow's Big Band album. He had some great players in the band (Paul Leim - who has played drums on hundreds of #1 records, played on the original Star Wars movie sound track, year with Doc Severinsen, etc., horn players who tour with Prince, Elton John, Paul Simon, etc.). Why I'm on the album still puzzles me.
I've played a few live show with Tim's big band and he's asked me to work up a Stringmaster parts on the song SOFTLY AS I LEAVE YOU by Bobby Darren for some upcoming gigs. Should be fun playing steel in a big band (13 horns, bass, drums, piano, and me on guitar/steel).
I'm playing archtop (Gibson L-5) on the music you hear when you open his website http://www.timrushlow.com/ |

Very interesting. Are you going to be playing melody lines, chords or a combination there of? |

A combination of single notes and chords. I'll be covering a lot of what the strings and BGVs are doing on the recording (which you can hear on the link below)
