Complete newbie question ... what is this? Is this how the copedents are determined, where the rods are assigned to pedals/levers/strings and different holes determine pitch change +/-?

Basically yes, except that the different holes per string determine (a) whether it will raise or lower the pitch; and (b) the leverage on the pull to get more or less pitch change for any given amount of pull. But basically you got it right. _________________ www.JimCohen.com

yeah, that's where you're going to tune all your pedal and lever stops. when people say 2 up/ 2 down, it looks like they're talking about you. |

I copied the pic from a "for sale" posting on the forums here, yes I believe it is a Fender and it's not mine. I do not yet own a PSD guitar. |

That is a picture of the endplate showing the "nylon-tuners" that fine tune your raises and lowers on each of the strings.
Those nylon tuners are at the end of the pullrods that connect to crossshafts/levers/rods/pedals.
This guitar seem to have double raise and double lower capability, raises beeing the top two holes and lowers on the lower two holes.
The guitar has a pretty standard E9 setup where there are raise on string 10 and 5 (B-C#) A pedal
There are raise and lower on strings 8 and 4 (E-F) and E-Eb) both normal/standard E9 knee-levers.
There are raise for both string 5 and 4 (B-C#) and (E-F#) C-Pedal
There are raise on string 6 and 3, (G#-A) B-pedal
Finally there are 3 nylon tuners on the lower part of picture on strings 10, 5 and 2, most likely 10 and 5 (B-Bb)
String 2 could be either Eb-D or Eb-D-C# or Eb-C#
There would be at least 3 knee levers on that setup, maybe 4 but difficult to tell from the picture.
No raises/lowers seem to be installed on strings 9 7 or 1
Thats more or less what I read out of the picture posted. Hope this explains whats there so you recognize the different parts what they do.
