Joe Naylor of Steel Seat, makes a fairly lightweight seat which I use for my flying gigs...even with a back on it it fits in the overhead fine... he calls it his "Lite Model" and it weighs about 12lbs with the back on it - and nothing inside it. I also have two Steelers Choice sidekicks but they are too big and heavy for flying.

Paddy, I love my Steel seat Lite, but without a back mine empty weighs in at 18 lbs. Have you weighed yours?

I can build you one that weighs in at 12Lbs 14oz
No back rest. No fancy trim. The fancy trim only add 1/2 lb to the seat if you want it.

The Steelers Choice Easy Rider without back support weighs approximately 13 pounds empty and will fit in overhead. And yes, this includes all aluminum protective trim. All are invited to visit www.steelerschoice.com for more information. Steelers Choice in business since 1978. Thank you, Dan Rollans
