Visiting this weekend, any shops handle steel guitar merchandise? Would love to browse. Also looking for country music shows to see. _________________ 2010 Rains 3x5 SD10, 2006 Rains 3x5 SD10 Powered by Quilter Tone Block 202 and 15' and 12' Custom Speaker cabs |

I haven't seen any shops in OKC have any pedal steel related gear. You will occasionally see a used steel somewhere but that is still pretty uncommon. If you come across a place that does please let me know. I would kill to find a place near by that does repairs and set ups. |

Wormy Dog Saloon books a variety of Red Dirt and similar groups. No idea who is playing this week but they have a web site. Great honky-tonk atmosphere.
EDIT - OK, you got me curious so I checked it for you.
Tonight is Cole Porter Band, and they list Tyler Giles on lead and on steel. Music starts at 9:30.
Tomorrow is the Aaron Woods Band. As far as I can tell they have no steel but correct me if anybody knows otherwise. |

Hey Kenny, I just saw your post. ......spent the day site seeing. I missed getting down there. But I did find Langstons and bought me a new summer cowboy hat. Great store, great selection on all western wear.
Thanks for the tip. _________________ 2010 Rains 3x5 SD10, 2006 Rains 3x5 SD10 Powered by Quilter Tone Block 202 and 15' and 12' Custom Speaker cabs |

Try "The Horn Trader" at Reno and Penn I believe. He has a few used Steels that you might get a deal on. He carries every instrument in the world in that store. A very cool place to browse around in.
Later, Simon |
