I just noticed this song (which I recorded with my band Sommerset back in 1975) was uploaded to YouTube a few months ago. I was either 16 or 17 years old at the time of recording and only played pedal steel guitar for a few years. It was a tribute to one of my greatest inspirators on this instrument, the one and only Lloyd Green. Played on a Framus pedal steel guitar. 41 years ago, how time flies Smile

Greta Andre! There's something about the Dutch sound!
"Mississippi" by Pussycat or the Wildweeds for example.

Very nice! I like the tone you're getting from that Framus.

Thank you Joachim and Doug! The producer of our band back then asked me to play the track two times in the studio and that's why it sounds double tracked because he used both takes.

I still have this Framus pedal steel and I can't let go of it because I played this very instrument with my band at the Grand Ole Opry back in 1975.

Hi Paul, my apology for the late reply. I've been extremely busy last week with a few productions.

Thank you very much and yes, it is me on steel. Btw, the drummer and the leadsinger are my brothers with whom I started this band in 1968. I just played guitar back then. My brother just told me I was 15 years old when this was recorded, btw.

Besides still having that very same steel guitar - although I've been playing a Zumsteel (the first Stage One version) for the past 16 years - I also have the Framus guitar and bass you see in this clip. I actually played that bass on every song of this album besides acoustic and electric guitar, piano and sang the low backing vocals.

My brother Hans (the leadsinger) posted the whole show which was broadcasted by Dutch National TV and where your link was taken from.

Here's part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttFvBLAm6qA

Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXqLO1SuHx0

The song "Another Lonely Night" (in part 2 at 9 minutes) stayed 6 weeks in the Dutch Top 40 and reached number 14.

The CD was produced by Jaap Eggermont (the first drummer of the Golden Earring) who also produced the world hit "Stars on 45" later on which reached number 1 in the U.S. and other countries.

Thanks again for your kind comment!
